Saturday, January 24 (10 - 11 am) : Homer High School Community Building & Workshop Day - This event hosts students from multiple YMCA Youth and Government programs across the region at Homer High School for a day focused on civic engagement, leadership development, and preparation for our mock legislative and judicial conferences. Our students are passionate about government, public policy, and community involvement. LWVCC will speak on why it is important to vote.

Beyond Plastics, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that has a single mission.... eliminate single use plastic.... presents "Plastic Pollution and the Road to Activism" at ArtRage in Syracuse at 7 p.m. (The talk will be given by LWVCC President, Kim Cameron -- and while Kim will not be there in her League capacity, the talk is related to the League's position on climate change.)

As pressure on state election systems increase nationwide with the federal government pushing to nationalize elections, we must fight to protect the vote to ensure access to our democracy.
