LWVCC 2026 EVENTS CALENDAR

JANUARY

• Sunday, January 18: LWVCC Board meeting via Zoom  (social: 5pm; meeting: 5:30 pm) - all members are invited to attend

• Monday, January 19: Martin Luther King Day

  • Community Luncheon & Learning Simulation (11:30 am - 1pm, YWCA)

  • Indivisible Cortland County Candlelight Vigil (6 pm, Courthouse Park)

• Saturday, January 24 (10 - 11 am) : Homer High School Community Building & Workshop Day - This event hosts students from multiple YMCA Youth and Government programs across the region at Homer High School for a day focused on civic engagement, leadership development, and preparation for our mock legislative and judicial conferences. Our students are passionate about government, public policy, and community involvement.  LWVCC will speak on why it is important to vote.

• Tuesday, January 27 (7 pm): LWVCC Book Club  at All My Friends Book Store

• Wednesday, January 28 (4 - 6 pm): a free webinar on Plastics: The Mounting Threat to Public Health.  If you missed the webinar, you can still watch the "Plastic Pollution" video on LWVCC's YouTube Channel.

FEBRUARY 

• February: Black History Month - Read about women in the African American Civil Rights Movement

• Monday, February 2: LWVCC Monthly Meeting (5 - 7pm) - Topic: How to Run for Public Office panel discussion

• Wednesday, February 4: TC3 New Students Get Connected Fair: February 4 (12 - 1:30 pm) - LWVTC and LWVCC tabling event 

• Saturday, February 14: Last day to change your party affiliation before the primary on 6/23.

• Sunday, March 15 (4-5 pm): The National Women's History Museum's Current Women's History 101 Virtual Talk on Women Who Led the Disability Rights Movement.  Presented in honor of Stacey Park Milbern
