Kim Cameron, Co-President

Kim Cameron joined the LWVCC in 2022 and immediately fell in love with the NY League's environmental legislative goals.  Kim is an environmental activist with a PhD in Plant Physiology and a tutoring business focused on helping high school and college students with their academic studies (primarily math and science).   Kim is also a volunteer speaker for Beyond Plastics and founder of Beyond Plastics Onondaga-Cortland Counties.  The committee educates NYers about environmental issues and encourages activism in the community to promote the idea that every NYer deserves clean water, clean air, and a healthy environment to live in. 

Donald Chu, Vice President

Donald Chu was born in New Rochelle, NY and attended public school there.  He studied engineering at MIT, Cornell and Johns Hopkins.  For almost forty years, he worked as a NASA and NOAA contractor.  In 2017, he retired and moved to Cortland (his wife Diane’s hometown) and began volunteering in the schools.  In 2019 he joined the city school board.  He also serves on the city Environmental Advisory Committee.

Linda Frank, Co-Secretary

Linda joined LWVCC in January 2006, one day after she retired from her job as Technical Librarian at Tompkins Cortland Community College! She had studied how LWVCC planned and hosted community gatherings and public debates on many current issues facing local government, the state, and the nation. All of the programs they planned were non-partisan and thoughtfully presented. The New York State League had done much studying of the facts and one could count on the information they sent to local Leagues to be accurate.

Over the years Linda has held various positions in LWVCC and was part of many programs. She is noted particularly for her work with the Students Inside Albany program which sends High School students to a three- day conference in Albany to get a better look at how NY State Senate and Assembly operates.
